We offer 3 types of unique rental cabins and rooms, including magazine-perfect restored farmhouses, riverside cottages, and a country lodge. Be sure to call ahead for reservations – these fill up fast!

Lost Paddle Cottage

Located in the heart of the Gauley River National River area, Lost Paddle offers all the comforts of home and is near Summersville Lake and Carnifex Ferry Civil War Battlefield. You will be one-eighth of a mile from the spectacular Long Point Overlook, 1 mile to Summersville Dam, 20 minutes to New River Gorge, cottage features three bedrooms, queen-sized beds, TV / DVD player and Jacuzzi in master bedroom. All cooking utensils, towels, and linens are supplied. The only thing you need to bring is food, soap, and other personal necessities.

Riverside Cottage

On the banks of the New River at the historic town of Thurmond, Riverside Cottage features a large deck overlooking the water. One bedroom with a queen-sized bed. A short walk takes you into Thurmond, the railroad and river town that served as Gateway to the Gorge at the turn of the century. Notorious in its heyday as the raucous home of gamblers, rogues and ladies of the evening, Thurmond today is a quiet and picturesque community being restored as part of the New River National Recreation Area.

Snowshoe Cabin, Fox Ridge

Looking for a private, secluded getaway at a most affordable rate? You’ve chosen the right place. Conveint to all outdoor recreation, snowshoe mountain and silver creek ski resorts, snowboarding, skiing, snow tubing, if you love the outdoors you will love our home, situated in the mountains with an amazing view of the mountains. If you are a fisherman or hunter you are close to the Elk River, Williams river, Greenbrier river all offering great fishing and hunting adventures, hiking the Greenbrier river trail or horseback riding. Pocahontas County is home to the chili festival, road kill festival, wine and jazz festival, blues brews and BBQ festival. Greenbank Radio Observatory kids will love this as well as adults. Or just come to relax and enjoy all the amenities of home only away from home. The bottom half of this home does have a seasonal winter renter from (November thru March) , this section can be rented during the spring off-season ( April thru October) which during the offseason may also be rented.

Base Camp Cabins

1-night minimum. $75 Per Night, All Seasons

These mini cabins are located at the base camp, close and convenient to everything. The rustic cabin has no power or water each cabin is equipped with 4 queen size bunks with mattresses so each will accommodate 8 people. All you need is sleeping bag we do not provide your bed linens.

We had an amazing time on our Lower Gauley rafting adventure thanks to our guide Kimberly and the rest of the staff. Kim’s incredible knowledge and experience made our trip unforgettable. We will definitely be back to raft the Upper Gauley!
